If you live in Portage or Summit Counties you may, of course,
attend any other Counties Meetings and functions,
you do not have to live in a county to be involved in their activities.
(Don't forget we also have Regional and State functions.)
You join ABATE of Ohio,Inc., NOT a County or Region.
Most Counties and/or Regions provide a regular mailing to their members in addition to the State mailing. You may get on their mailing list by changing your county status to the next nearest organized county ( of your choice ) with the State Office.
It is the dawn of a new era in our community, as the New Year begins so does a new start for A.B.A.T.E. here in Summit County. We see renewed interest in those who are not only willing but are in need of being involved as well as informed citizens. It never ceases to amaze when a community comes together to make a difference in the world around them. People are funny like that, when it is something that affects them or those they love; they step up, take a stand, shout for what they believe in, and in the end make that difference.
We need to treat this revival of the Summit County Chapter like an infant, provide everything it needs to grow and prosper; education and training, shelter and a sense of home, common goals to strive for, and a large tribe to facilitate the journey. We; this band of brothers and sisters can make a change for the better for not only our region, but can extend that reach as far as state and national levels. How proud we should all be of the impact we are about to make.
