Tired of sitting on your bike at Red Lights that won't turn GREEN ????
For the past several months, ODOT has worked closely with the American Motorcycle Association to target automated traffic signals that are not sensitive enough to recognize when a motorcycle or scooter is waiting for a light to change.
To enlist the help of Ohio’s motorcyclists, ODOT set up a special phone number & E-mail for motorcyclists for reporting problem intersections. When reports come in, ODOT will notifiy signal owners – often a city or county – about the situation and offer recommendations for improvement. |

Webmasters Note: (9/14/09) I do , indeed, have an Traffic Light close to my home that doesn't like Motorcycles. As a "Test" I called and reported that Traffic Light to see how this program works. I was welcomed and thanked for calling and making my report. The only info they asked for was the name of the Town and the Roads that are involved. Your E-mail & Phone Number is an option, but, they offered to update me on how my report was moving. I was also asked to e-mail my report and that I would be "carbon copied" the report when it went to whoever owns that traffic Light. I was also told that my call was "Toll Free". Guess I'll check my next Phone Bill.......
I'll let you know more as I find out. "T.J." |
